Segment 1 Group Skating: 15 Minutes (approx.) to work on various areas such as:
- · proper technique
- · balance
- · forward stride
- · edge work
- · backwards stride (older group)
- · explosive starts (older group)
Segment 2 Stations: 30 Minutes (approx.) We will split into stations where kids will get an opportunity to work on a variety of different skills. We will do our best to ensure stations are run so kids can get maximum amount of repetitions of the skill/drill that is introduced. Here, we will use some of the skill-developing equipment that our players use (attack triangles, stickhandling aids, etc.). Skills include but not limited to:
- · skating
- · stickhandling
- · passing
- · shooting
- · puck protection
Segment 3 Games: 5-7 Minutes (approx.) Depending on numbers, we’d like to end with something fun. We have a couple of games from our summer hockey camps that should be able to work with the group and get the kids moving.
