Goalie Equipment
We have a fairly extensive inventory of goalie equipment with at least enough gear to:
- fully dress two IP (initiation program) goalies
- provide one set of goalie equipment to each novice and atom team
- provide equipment to equip half the number of peewee teams
Our approach recognizes that as goalies get older, they generally will begin to collect their have their
own equipment. We may have a very limited amount of equipment for bantam or midget goalies, but
the focus of our equipment program is our younger players.
Our goalie equipment is funded solely by rental of the equipment through the season. We do our best
to ensure our goalies have fairly new equipment, but limited funding generally means we keep our gear
for about five years. As a result, not all of our equipment is quite as shiny and new as the gear in the stores.
The association provides pads, chest protector, trapper, blocker and dangler for all the younger
teams. We have a limited number of goalie skates available as well. Generally, teams are expected
to buy their own goalie sticks.
The equipment rental costs for the season (Sep to Mar) are:

Special arrangements can be made for out of season equipment rental. Costs will be prorated
based on the seasonal rental cost.
When signing out the goalie equipment, teams or individual goalies will pay the full deposit amount
for the equipment. When the equipment is returned the deposit will be refunded less the rental cost.
Cheques should be made out to OCMHA.
